This is my grandaughter at my daughters wedding reception. She is hard to slow down to take a pic. I got this just before she became a wide mouthed monster! lolDSC_6047.jpg

I asked my husband to sit in before a client session to get my lighting set up and our middle daughter voluntarily joined in. Little does she know that he will begin his fourth deployment later this year.

f/4, ISO 140, 1/180 and I used Lemondrops bw action

This is my ten year old daughter Lilee with her little brother Knoxx when he was 7 days old. She is the only girl of four children and was devastated when she found out another little boy was on the way. After witnessing Knoxx's birth, Lilee embraced God's gender selection and she and he have been inseparable ever since!

This shot is of my little 2 yr old niece. I think it was the first time she had ever seen a dandelion and she just sat there, sweetly admiring the flower. I happened to catch her look over at me. This was one of those photos that the instant I captured it, I knew I had magic. I was lucky enough to get it near perfect in camera too - the only adjustment was a minor WB change. Every time I see this photo it just makes me think how sweet and perfect and innocent every child is.

Photo info: ISO 400 f/2.8 1/640, taken with Nikon D700 and 70-200mm f/2.8 lens at 200mm focal length.

Not my usual style, but this photograph got me using my wide angle in photoshoots, which I now love.

This is my 4 year old daughter :) We were working on a spring themed session a little ways away, but she wandered off and found this stump. After jumping off a few times she happened to spot some paper umbrellas we had stashed away for later in our session. She grabbed one, climbed back on the stump, and jumped off with hopes of flying like Mary Poppins, too cute! Totally unscripted and unposed, she was having a ball playing on that stump and didn't have a clue we were even watching her for the longest time.

Nikon D700 with an 85mm 1.4G lens

Settings were:
SS 1/400
ISO 200

My daughter and her 2nd cousin. They just sat down and held hands. I love them, they are both such sweet girls.

OMW! This is soooo adorable! I absolutely love it when children just naturally do something out of innocence and we have camera in hand to capture that precious moment! Beautiful!

So I'm literal and my brain immediately goes to white = innocence and purity = SNOW! Ha. So that's why I'm entering this one of my son out in snow for the first time in his little life, and the look of "what on EARTH is going on mother??" It makes me smile every time I think about how mesmerized he was by the fluffy white stuff.

This is no technical miracle! But we were out in this field with some friends and my friend wanted to learn to take some pictures of her children. Her youngest son was afraid and being shy and didn't want his picture taken. So my son (with favorite Teddy in hand) Jumped up on this rock and showed the little boy that it was okay to sit on the rock. So happy and willing to make this other little boy fell secure and show him the ropes.

In that moment, I snapped this picture of my son. I realized that he starts Kindergarten in the Fall, that soon, he won't be carrying around his Teddy buddy anymore (He rarely does anymore as it is) and just to have caught him in this moment made me tear up. He's not a baby anymore and soon he will be leaving home all day to go to school and to face what reality is like (maybe bullies, or learn bad words that other kids say and being away from mom all day long)

Definitely made me think of innocence. I will totally cherish all of the time I have spent with him, watching him grow. It's almost time to send him off to others and hope and pray they protect my baby for 7 hours a day.

I took this picture one afternoon just playing around outside. My daughter loves hanging on the monkey bars and I love how this picture shows the innocence and playfulness of childhood. I was glad to catch some sun behind her too.

This was taken with my 50 mm at f/3.2, ISO 640, and ss 1/160.

Here is my entry. I just love how calm she seems, like if she was meditating!
